Milwaukee, WI -- On July 30, 2018, the Chippin’ for Children golf tournament and auction was held to benefit Walworth County’s special needs community and the children and families throughout the state. The event took place at Geneva National Resort & Club’s Gary Player and Arnold Palmer courses.
The Geneva National Foundation was founded by the owners and executive management team of the Geneva National Resort & Club. The foundation is dedicated to improving the lives of those living with developmental disabilities. Most of their fundraising is through annual golf outings. Over the past 12 years they have raised more than $2.5 million to provide grants for special needs such as wheelchairs, guide dogs, specialized equipment, musical therapy and much more.
“Since 2005, we’ve been donating our courses to benefit our neighbors with special needs,” says Pamela Chambers, Geneva National owner and president of the Geneva National Foundation Board. “Last year, for instance, we helped raise nearly $60,000 for the Never Say Never all-inclusive playground to be built in Veteran’s Park in Lake Geneva.”
The golfing event opened with the National Anthem sung by Elizabeth Fideler who was accompanied by her guide dog Victor, followed by the Golf Shotgun Start with tastings, samplings, games and music on the course.
The afternoon concluded with an Awards Dinner and live auction raising over $20,000 which will support both the Geneva National Foundation’s grant program as well as Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin. The Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin is a not-for-profit entity and is the region’s only independent health care system dedicated solely to the health and well-being of children.
“It is always an honor to participate in events that support those with disabilities in our community, not just as a sponsor but as an active participant,” states Joe Rittenhouse, President of Business Development of Converged Technology Professionals. “Geneva National Foundation does a tremendous job planning and executing these events. We encourage those in the community to register for next year’s event and support the Geneva National Foundation so they may continue to expand the various initiatives and programs they offer.”

The Geneva National Foundation
The Geneva National Foundation provides educational, technological, structural and management funding and support primarily for 501(c)(3) charities and other educational institutions as well as individuals with developmental disabilities or special needs in Walworth County, Wisconsin.
Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin
Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin is the region’s only independent health care system dedicated solely to the health and well-being of children. The hospital, with locations in Milwaukee and Neenah, Wisconsin, is recognized as one of the leading pediatric health care centers in the United States. It is ranked in eight specialty areas in U.S. News & World Report’s 2018-19 Best Children’s Hospitals report. Children’s provides primary care, specialty care, urgent care, emergency care, community health services, foster and adoption services, child and family counseling, child advocacy services and family resource centers. In 2017, Children’s invested nearly $103 million in the community to improve the health status of children through medical care, advocacy, education and pediatric medical research. Children’s achieves its mission in part through donations from individuals, corporations and foundations and is proud to be a member of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.
